Each tone generator was calibrated by hand at the factory and no one has the exact same output levels. That's one of the main reasons why each Hammond has its own unique personality, coloration and sound.

While tone generator is crucial to the overall sound of the organ, it can be tricky and risky to attempt any work on the tone generator assembly. Under certain circumstances a new calibration can improve the sound of an instrument and match an individual musical liking and preference much better. However, it is strongly recommended to anyone without the proper knowledge of the tools and technique to start any calibration procedure!
